Where your first 1,000 subscribers actually come from.

New creators obsess over the paid page and forget the actual job: getting strangers to it. Your first thousand subscribers don't come from the page — they come from the free platforms that feed it.

Traffic is the whole game early on

Before you have an audience, nothing else you optimise matters much. Pricing, upsells, content strategy — all of it is downstream of one question: how many new people see you today? Fix that first.

The sources that reliably work

Short-form video (TikTok, Reels) for reach, a platform like Reddit for intent-driven traffic, and a consistent presence somewhere your niche already gathers. The mix matters less than the discipline of feeding all of them regularly.

The mistake is spreading thin across ten platforms and doing none of them well. Two or three, done consistently, out-perform a scattered presence every time.

Build the funnel, not just the following

Followers aren't the goal — subscribers are. Every free post should have a job: move someone one step closer to the page. If your content isn't built to convert, a big following just becomes a vanity number.
